The Institute of Engineering of UNAM extends an invitation to the two “Workshops on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)” which will take place in the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City. The first workshop will focus on CO2 Geological Storage and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). The second workshop is on CO2 Capture. Both workshops are organized within the scope of the Capacity Building Program of the CSLF (Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum, http://www.cslforum.org/) and are addressed to the academic community in Mexico.  World renowned specialists will be presenting relevant topics in CCS.

The main purpose is to generate interest in CCS, to introduce the topic in the academic curricula, and to provide materials that may be used for CCS courses. The workshops are addressed to the academic community in Mexico integrated by professors and graduate students with knowledge and/or interest on the topics being covered.

For the first workshop, people with background on disciplines such as Geology, Geosciences, Chemistry, and Petroleum Engineering are particularly encouraged to participate.

For the second workshop, the related disciplines are Mechanical, Chemical and Process Engineering as well as any other disciplines related to power generation. For each workshop there is a maximum limited attendance of 30 participants to enable full interaction between attendants and lecturers.
